Report Builder Guide

Choose your location

Start a report from an address or a pin saved in Atlas.

Enter an address

Open Report Builder. The page heading is Market reports. In Choose your location, type the address you want. The field placeholder reads Street address, city, or ZIP code.

The same field filters saved pins by name as you type. If a pin's name matches, those pins stay in the list. Select one of them, or leave them unselected and generate from the address you typed.

If no pin name matches, a New address card appears. It says: "None of your pins match, so we'll look this one up." The address you typed is the one the report will use. Select Verify if you want to check it first. Verify is optional. You can generate without it.

  • Address found: the card shows the address it found. You can generate.
  • Close match: the card shows the closest address. If that is not the place, add the street number, city, or ZIP.
  • Address not found: check the street number, or add the city and ZIP.
  • Couldn't check: you can still select Generate report.

When the card offers Use this address, select it to replace what you typed with the address that was found.

Typing in the field clears a pin you already selected. If you type to find a different pin, select that pin before you generate. Otherwise the field is treated as an address.

Continue to Choose specialties when the location is the one you want.

Use a saved pin

  1. In Choose your location, find the pin you want. Use Sort by: Name or Sort by: Recently saved, or type part of the pin's name to narrow the list.
  2. Select the pin. It becomes the location for your report, and the address field clears.
  3. Continue to Choose specialties.

Personal and organization pins

If you have an organization account, select My saved pins for your own pins or Organization pins for pins shared with your organization. Switching tabs clears the pin you had selected.

If you have an individual account, your saved pins appear without these tabs.

If you have no saved pins, the list says No saved pins yet. Enter an address above to run a report. On Organization pins, an empty list says No pins shared with your organization yet.

To create a saved pin in Atlas, see Rename and save a marker.

How a saved pin becomes a report location

When you generate the report, CommunityDX looks up a street address from the pin's position and uses that address for the report. The pin's name helps you recognize the location. It is not used as the address.

This does not rename your saved pin. The reports list uses the looked-up address, so its wording may differ from the pin name shown in the preview.

If CommunityDX cannot find a street address for the pin, the report request does not go through. The page says: "We couldn't find a street address for that pin. Enter an address instead."

If the pin has no map point, the page says: "This pin has no map point. Enter a street address instead."
