Custom Locations

Open Custom Locations

1. Sign in to CommunityDX and open Atlas.
2. Select My Places in the Toolbar.
3. Expand Custom Locations.

The section shows your saved custom locations and the number used out of your account's 50-location limit.

Add one custom location

CommunityDX geocodes the address, saves the location to your account, and places its pin on the map. If the address cannot be positioned, no custom location is created.

The location name initially uses the matched address. You can rename it from its map popup.

Import multiple custom locations

Atlas adds custom locations one at a time. To add a list, follow the Saved Data CSV import instructions.

CSV-imported and Atlas-created locations use the same Custom Locations list and share the same 50-location account limit. Imported category text is shown as a custom label, while the underlying Atlas category remains Other.

Show or hide a custom-location pin

Select a custom location in the list to toggle its pin:

• On Map means the pin is currently visible.
• Selecting a visible location hides its pin without deleting the saved location.
• Selecting a hidden location puts its pin back on the map.

Your hidden or visible choice is saved to your account. New custom locations and previously visible custom locations appear automatically when your saved places load.

Read and rename a custom location

Select a custom-location pin on the map to open its popup. It shows the category or custom category label, the saved address, and the straight-line distance to each active radius marker.

Rename the location

1. Select the location name in the popup.
2. Enter the new name.
3. Press Enter or select outside the field to save.

Press Escape to keep the previous name. Renaming changes the saved display name; it does not change the address or move the pin.

Remove a pin without deleting it

Select Remove Pin in the custom-location popup. The pin disappears from the map but remains in My Places → Custom Locations and in Account Saved Data.

Select the saved location in the list whenever you want to show it again.

Delete a custom location

Select the X beside a custom location in the Toolbar list to permanently remove it from your account and the map.

The Toolbar currently deletes immediately without a confirmation. You can also inspect and delete the same custom location under Account Saved Data.

Keep Custom Locations separate from Partner and Owned locations

The My Locations flyout also contains Partner Locations and User Owned Locations, but those are provider designations:

• Custom Locations are user-defined addresses and personal reference pins.
• Partner and Owned locations start from specialist provider points already loaded in Atlas.
• Partner and Owned designations affect competition results; Custom Locations do not.
• CSV import creates only Custom Locations. It does not create Partner or Owned designations.

Troubleshooting

A saved custom location is not on the map

Open My Places → Custom Locations and select the location. A hidden pin remains saved until you show it again.

A new address is not added

Enter a complete street address. If the address cannot be geocoded precisely enough to produce map coordinates, Atlas does not create the location.

The add form says the maximum is reached

Each account can store up to 50 custom locations across Atlas and CSV imports. Delete an unneeded custom location before adding another.

An imported location uses the Other style

CSV category values are custom display labels. Imported locations currently use Atlas's underlying Other category and map style. See how imported categories work.
