Account Guide
Saved Data
Browse saved places, providers, and reports, and import custom locations from CSV.
Open Saved Data
Sign in to CommunityDX, open Account, and select Saved Data.
The summary cards show totals for Saved Places, Saved Providers, and Recent Reports. Select a summary card or tab to switch groups, use the filter chips to show a specific type, then select a table row to open its detail panel and location preview.
Import custom locations from a CSV
Use CSV import when you already have a list of locations and do not want to add them one at a time.
- Select + Upload Custom Locations.
- Select Download Template.
- Open
cdx-custom-locations-template.csvand replace the example rows with your locations. - Save or export the file as CSV.
- Return to the dialog and select Upload Template.
- Choose your CSV file and wait while CommunityDX checks the locations.
- Review the imported and skipped row counts, then select Done.
The same custom-location upload is also available from the CommunityDX Dashboard under Upload locations.
Prepare the CSV
Keep the template's header row and use one location per row:
- name — required; a recognizable location name, up to 150 characters;
- address — required; a complete US street address, up to 250 characters;
- category — optional; a free-text display label, up to 50 characters; and
- notes — optional; additional context, up to 500 characters.
Use an address such as 123 Main St, Suite 200, Plano, TX 75024. Headers are not case-sensitive, surrounding spaces in header names are ignored, extra columns are ignored, and blank rows are skipped.
If a value contains a comma, quotation mark, or line break, let your spreadsheet application export the CSV so the value is quoted correctly.
How imported categories work
The optional category column becomes a custom display label. It does not assign one of Atlas's built-in custom-location categories or map colors. CSV-imported locations currently use the underlying Other category in Atlas.
Meet the address requirements
CommunityDX validates and geocodes every address before importing it. Each address must:
- include both a street number and street name;
- resolve to a physical street address rather than only a city, ZIP code, county, or state;
- resolve precisely enough to place on the map; and
- be in the United States or a supported US territory.
Do not begin a name or address with spreadsheet formula characters such as =, +, -, or @. CommunityDX rejects these values for safety.
Understand import results
The importer processes each row independently. A problem in one row does not prevent valid rows from importing.
- Imported X of Y locations means at least one row succeeded.
- No locations were imported out of Y means every row was skipped.
- Each skipped row includes the row number, location name when available, and the reason it failed.
Fix only the skipped rows and upload them again. Do not include rows that were already imported, or you may create duplicates.
Imported locations appear under Saved Places → Custom Locations after the account data updates. They are also available under My Places → Custom Locations in Atlas. See the Atlas Custom Locations guide for showing, hiding, renaming, and removing these map pins.
Work within custom-location limits
You can save up to 50 custom locations per account. The upload dialog shows how many locations you can still add.
- CSV files must be 1 MB or smaller.
- A single upload can contain at most 50 locations.
- If the CSV exceeds your remaining allowance, only the rows that fit are checked and the extra rows are listed as skipped.
- Repeated uploads in a short period may ask you to wait before trying again.
The + Upload Custom Locations button becomes unavailable at the 50-location limit. Delete an existing custom location before importing another.
Browse and inspect saved items
The Saved Data table shows Name, Type, Location, Created, and Actions.
- Select Saved Places to browse Searches, Saved Markers, and Custom Locations.
- Select Saved Providers to browse Partners and Owned Locations.
- Select Recent Reports to browse generated reports.
- Select a row to view its details and map preview.
- Select Open in Map to open Atlas.
Open in Map currently opens Atlas without automatically centering or selecting the saved item.
Delete a saved item
- Select the item in the table.
- In the detail panel, select Delete.
Deleting a custom location removes it from the saved-location data shared with Atlas.
Troubleshooting CSV imports
The file is missing a name or address column
Select Download Template and copy your rows into it. Both name and address must be present in the header row.
The file has headers but no locations
Add at least one nonblank data row below the header.
The file is too large
Reduce the file to 1 MB or less. A single upload accepts no more than 50 locations.
A row says Name or Address is required
Make sure both cells contain values. A name must contain at least one letter or number, and an address must contain a street number and street name.
An address could not be found or was not precise enough
Use the complete street address, including suite or unit details when relevant, city, state, and ZIP code. Do not use only a business name, city, ZIP code, county, or state.
Only some rows imported
This is expected when some rows pass validation and others do not. Review the skipped-row messages, correct those rows, and upload only the corrected rows.
The upload says I can add only a certain number
Your account is approaching the 50 custom-location limit. Only rows within the remaining allowance are checked. Delete unneeded custom locations before importing more.
The upload asks me to wait
Too many import requests were made in a short period. Wait at least a minute before trying again.
An imported category has the Other map style
CSV category values are display labels. Imported rows currently use Atlas's underlying Other category and its map presentation.
Current limits
- Each account can store up to 50 custom locations.
- CSV imports support US street addresses and supported US territories only.
- Imports do not detect or merge duplicate locations.
- CSV category labels do not map to Atlas's built-in location categories.
- Open in Map does not yet deep-link to the selected item.
- Rename, Duplicate, and Share actions are not currently available.
- Recent Report downloads are shown in the interface, but report-link generation is not currently connected.
